Stretch Hood Film

Stretch Hood film for automatic pallet packaging

Big Pak produces stretch hood film for automatic packaging and pallet stabilisation. The film stretches under tension and shrinks over the load without the use of heat a tight pallet wrap compatible with packaging machines equipped with a stretch hood head. Plant in Ełk, delivery to Poland and the EU, enquiry response time: 24h.

Technical specification

Stretch hood is produced as a highly-flexible tubular film. It is applied cold - without a shrink tunnel - by the head of a packaging machine, which stretches and pulls the hood down over the pallet.

What is the difference between a stretch hood and shrink wrap?

Stretch hood is applied cold — the machine stretches the film hood over the pallet mechanically. Shrink wrap requires a shrink tunnel or a heat gun to heat the film and cause it to shrink. Stretch hood requires a larger investment in machinery, but provides higher packaging speeds and complete protection of the load from the top and sides.
