PACKAGING USE

The design of Big Bags allows for the separation of components — PP fabric, PE foil elements, and other constituent parts — during processing at waste recyclers holding the appropriate permits.

MATERIAL RECYCLING

After use, the packaging can be sent for recycling to entities holding the relevant permit.

PPWR and VerpackG - preparation before regulatory changes

New EU regulations introduce requirements regarding the share of recycled materials in plastic packaging. For companies using Big Bag industrial packaging, this means the need to prepare appropriate material solutions and documentation for regulatory compliance processes.

Big Pak response by producing Big Bags with post-consumer recycled polypropylene (rPP) content certified in accordance with GRS. Availability, rPP content, and GRS certification are agreed upon during ordering — contact us if your customer or regulations require documented recycled content.

GRS documentation is available for selected orders, for production batches covered by certification — on request.

Regulation

PPWR (EU)

What this means for the buyer

A requirement for a minimum share of recycled content in all plastic packaging — aiming for 15% by 2030, with higher thresholds by 2040; a design-for-recyclability obligation. This applies to all packaging, not just selected types.

How Big Pak responds

Big Pak offers Big Bags with certified PCR (GRS) content — for clients preparing for PPWR requirements. Scope and availability are determined upon order.

EPR / environmental fees

What this means for the buyer

In selected EPR systems, the fee amount may take into account the type of material, recyclability, and the share of recycled materials — this depends on the national system.

How Big Pak responds

Material documentation can support regulatory compliance processes and environmental reporting in systems where the share of recycled content is taken into account.

The information provided is of a general and informative nature and does not constitute an individual interpretation of the regulations. The scope

Designed with
durability and recycling in mind

Packaging durability does not end with strength parameters. It is equally important whether, after the end of its use, the material can be effectively sorted and directed for further processing.
Our Big Bag sacks undergo strength tests in accordance with the requirements for FIBC industrial packaging. The packaging components — PP fabric and PE foil elements — can be separated in mechanical processing operations, enabling further recycling in the appropriate material streams.

The people behind the production

The people behind the production

Big Pak has been operating in Ełk since 2009 and employs 130 people in one production plant.
Women constitute a significant majority of Big Pak's employees — a share higher than the average for the industrial manufacturing sector.
Currently, we do not conduct formal ESG reporting, but we monitor selected indicators related to our team and operations. Transparency in what we do and what we do not do yet is more important to us than declarations ahead of actual actions.
